Herieth is currently working on her combined BSc + BA from Quest University, with an expected graduation date of 2018. Her degree is focused around the question “how can we effectively eradicate infectious diseases?” concentrating on malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS.
Working with Sandra Pena, Herieth’s research project at the Av-Gay lab examines the role of the phosphatase PtpA of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in infection of the host macrophage.
When not at the lab, Herieth enjoys going for walks, learning new things, and spending time with her friends and family.
